These are our boys, Fitz and Jules, who are looking to the future.

Albert Camus was a goalkeeper for the University of Algiers football (yes, Americans, soccer) team, and apparently a very good one. He knew about the triumphs and defeats of playing and cheering for soccer teams, and when you support the mix that I do - Minnesota United FC, Tottenham Hotspur, AS Roma, Gli Azzurri and the good ol' USMNT & USWNT - there is always a mix of up and down. I lived in Rome during the 1990 Italia World Cup, and I am still upset about Roberto Baggio's penalty miss 4 years later in the 1994 finals. Life, it doesn't always make sense, but it is full of passion.

And I love to cook and grow things. Fresh vegetables and herbs in summer, pickles for the fall and winter, and breads of all kinds that keep our family fed and friends happy. Cookbooks and recipes have that magic combination of precision and experimentation, as well as culture and heritage. Let’s break bread sometime.
